Hi. I'm very excited that My Friday Read is back and humming along. I've been reading every day and loving it. So we have to play a little catch up with my TBR pile which is extremely backlogged.
As such, I have two great books to report in on:
First up, is a debut by a very talented writer, Janie Crouch.
PRIMAL INSTINCT is a page turner that will keep you on the edge of your seat. I know I was on the edge of mine for most of it. This book had likable characters, an engrossing story line and lots of chemistry. I highly recommend it. :-)
A killer stalks the city streets, and one FBI agent is determined to bring him down in Janie Crouch's Primal Instinct.
On the crowded streets of San Francisco, a serial killer watches and waits. Known only as "Simon Says," he lures his next victim while the FBI grasps for answers. Desperate, they turn to Adrienne Jeffries. Adrienne has an uncanny talent for getting inside the city's most dangerous minds. But first she'll have to get past FBI agent Conner Perigo. Skeptical of Adrienne's abilities, Conner begrudgingly enlists her help…unprepared for the powerful attraction that could jeopardize their focus. With little time, and everything to lose, they must work to find Simon's next victim—before he does.
And the other book I read was the final book in the Willow Creek, Texas series by Linda Warren. I've must admit that I was curious about how Linda was going to wrap up this series and she did not disappoint.
A TEXAS CHILD has a tall, sexy hero by the name of Levi Coyote and the heroine, Myra, is definitely his equal. And the danger they face while trying to help a critically mother be reunited with her stolen baby will keep your stomach in knots as you flip through the pages, hoping for a happy resolution and having no idea how they will pull it off. Thankfully there's a HEA. ;-)
To save a child
Regret. Assistant District Attorney Myra Delgado knows all about it. She's spent seven years regretting a foolish betrayal of her ex, Levi Coyote. But now Myra needs Levi, a private investigator, and the stakes are bigger than their history—a baby has been kidnapped. And only Myra is brave enough—or crazy enough—to go after a Mexican drug lord and attempt a rescue.
Levi might not be able to forgive her, but he can't let Myra face the danger alone. As they work to save an innocent child, he learns a shocking truth about their shared past. If they make it through this, he and Myra just might get a second chance at not only love, but family.
Until next week, happy reading!!!
